Ismael Rodríguez is an artisan, painter, sculptor, and photographer. Born in Venezuela, he showed an early interest in creating through the act of playing. Featuring a strong connection between his body and mind, Ismael’s art is a movement. His calm and humble being presents a fascinating dichotomy: nothing around him seems to stay still. This collection, created between South America and Europe, is a colorful daguerreotype of the world he sees and experiences. Transfigured animals, characters, seasons, and seeds seem to lose their form, to interpolate and come back into mixed media and techniques. Most of these pieces are assembled with recycled materials which resignify what seems to be useless, into something else. “If it’s useless or not depends on the individual who’s looking at it.” - Federico Sieder.
