Angie Dickerson is a self-taught abstract artist working primarily in mixed media and acrylics. Angie’s practice is based in an exploration of affect, physicality, and immediacy. Through texture and material, Angie’s abstractions join in conversation with a history of black women textile artists and painters. Informed largely by nature, Angie’s palettes are grounding and classic, while her forms marry tradition with modernity. Angie chooses not to title her work, valuing instead the open-endedness of her expression. Angie lives and works in Pasadena, California.
